FALMOUTH - Jack Hunter Green, 10 days, December 25, 2009-January 4, 2010. Beautiful infant son of Karen Hunter and Gregory Green of Falmouth died January 4, 2010 while in the loving arms of his parents. Jack was born Christmas night and welcomed into the world by his father and god mother, Jill Duson. He is the beloved brother of Matthew(Matt) Hunter and Alexandra(Ally) Green of Portland. He is also loved, survived and missed greatly by his grandparents George Hunter of Benton, and Barbara Green of Windsor; several aunts and uncles: Jeff Hunter of Fairfield, Laura LeClair of Benton, Mark and Ann Hunter of Buxton, Joyce and David Mongeau of Cumberland, Deborah Green of Portland, Jane and Michael King of Windsor; cousins Paul Hunter, Tyler LeClair, Jared, Jenna and Grace Mongeau, Molly and Sam King, and Evan, Noah, Sarah and Caleb Hunter.
Jack is also survived, loved and missed greatly by a large extended family and many, many friends who excitedly anticipated his arrival, and his dog Katie.
Jack is predeceased and was greeted in heaven by his grandmother Mary D. Hunter and grandfather James H. Green.
While he was with us, "Baby Jack" enjoyed being loved and cuddled by his family, listening to his lullabies, being read to by mommy and stealing the hearts of those who met him. We were truly blessed and honored to have had the time with him we did.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Maine Medical Center's NICU for lovingly caring for Jack and his parents during this difficult time. They are truly angels on earth. We would also like to thank our friends and family for their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be made in Jack's memory to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital or The Animal Refuge League of Westbrook.
A private memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. Arrangements are by Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland.
Poem for Jack written by his godmother, Jill Duson
You are very, very special
Have been so from the start
We held you in our arms
But mainly in our hearts
And like a single drop of rain
That on still waters fall,
Your life has tiny ripples made
And touched the lives of all
No matter what the outcome
With you our Christmas Child
Each moment is so precious
And remembered with a smile
As we pray to tiny angels
In heaven up above
Time here with you was special
And we treasure it with love
