Philip H. Palamountain
PORTLAND - Philip H. Palamountain, 78, of Northwood Drive, passed away on December 25, 2009. He was born in Ware, MA, a son of Philip R. and Gladys (Harden) Palamountain. He attended grammar school in Ware, Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ, Brown University in Providence, RI, Boston University in Boston, MA and USN OCS in Newport, RI. He married Geraldine Nichols on December 19, 1953 at Boston University Chapel. His extensive employment history from 1954 to present included LTJG USNR, National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD, General Radio Co. in Concord, MA, Independent Lock Co. in Fitchburg, MA, Bank of America in Augusta, ME, Milliken Tomlinson Co. in Portland and most recently at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Mr. Palamountain enjoyed running Cross Country and Track.
His expertise was in accounting and computer science. He taught at various places from 1970 to present which included University of Maine, Augusta and Portland, Westbrook College, Casco Bay College, Andover College and York County Community College.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Pamela Palamountain and her husband Frank Gose, Scott Palamountain and his wife Mary, Penny Simkins and her husband John. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
At his request, services will be private.
