Gladys E. Ringenback
PORTLAND - Gladys E. Ringenback, 59, died on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Maine Medical Center from a brief illness. She was born in Portland, the daughter of Harold and Catherine Chadwick. She attended Portland Schools, living her whole life in Portland.
She worked and volunteered and was a member of Amistad and loved by many there. She loved crosswords, music and Bingo. She enjoyed reading and knitting. She enjoyed her family and friends. Most important to her were her kids. Her predeceased family are her father Harold Chadwick; and her sisters Alfreda Buck and Sherri Lowell.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard Ringenback; and four children, Mark Hodgdon of Portland, Joseph Valeriani of Augusta, Teresa Broom and her husband Gerard of Sanbornville, N.H., and Marilouise Buckley and her husband James of Portland. Her surviving brothers and sisters are Harold Chadwick of Portland, Preston Chadwick of Westbrook, Gracie Pease of Augusta, Emma Harrison of Portland, Marylou Hough of South China, Arlene Chadwick of Auburn and Pamela Tapley of Windham. Also surviving are six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Gladys' life will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland.
