Priscilla "Nan" Currier Hilfrank
FALMOUTH - Priscilla "Nan" Currier Hilfrank passed away Friday. February 5th at St. Joseph's Manor in Portland. She was born March 30, 1927 in New Bedford, Mass, the daugther of Leila and George Currier of Colebrook, N.H. Nan graduated from Northfield Mount Herman and received a B.S. degree in Physical Education from Skidmore College. She taught PE at Pembroke College, now Brown University in Providence, RI. Nan obtained a physical therapy degree from Simmons College in Boston and practiced at Carney Hospital in Boston, Westbrook Community Hospital in Westbrook, ME and Ledgewood Manor in Windham, ME.
Nan was devoted to her family and many friends. She loved the out doors, cross country skiing, playing tennis, relaxing on the beach at Highland Lake, visiting with her family and spending time in her flower gardens. She was a trustee of the Falmouth Memorial Library and a member of the Falmouth Congregational Church. Most of all, she was a wonderful mother.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill, five children and their spouses: Brenda and Robert Lavalette, Becki and Sherman Ramsey, Betsey Hilfrank, Bruce and Peggy Hilfrank, Brian and Tracy Hilfrank; seven grandchildren, two great grandsons, and sisters Ginnie Stickney and Ellie Gooch.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 9 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in the Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 11:30 AM with Rev. Ron Bienema officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Blanchard Cemetery in Falmouth.
