PORTLAND - Esther Alma Dyer, 74, died February 22, 2010, after a long illness. She was born June 26, 1935, in Epping, NH, daughter of Ralph Everett Cross and Mary Jane Levesque. A 1953 graduate of Cathedral High School, Esther lived in Westbrook and worked for the Cumberland County Registry of Probate until her retirement in 2002. Esther is survived by her life partner, George D. Brown, and by her children, Brian J. Dyer of Buxton, Sharon J. Gaudette of Westbrook, Richard J. Dyer of Limington, Theresa J. Dyer of Scarborough and Christopher J. Dyer of Scarborough, as well as eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, at St. Hyacinth Church 295 Brown St. Westbrook, with interment to follow at Forest City Cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Esther's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online donations can also be made by visiting www.stjude.org.
