Elizabeth B. Mayberry
YARMOUTH - Elizabeth (Betty) Mayberry, a resident of the Brentwood Nursing Home of Yarmouth passed away on February 20, 2010 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough in the company of her family. She was born in South Portland on September 25, 1924, the daughter of Marguerite and Lawrence B. Anderson, Sr. and lived most of her life in Portland and Brunswick. She became a member of the Woodfords Congregational Church at age 13. Betty graduated from Deering High School in 1942. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Mayberry, Jr. who passed away in 1978.
She was also predeceased by her sister Roberta J. Anderson and her brother Lawrence B. Anderson, Jr. of Portland. She will be greatly missed by her three children, Bruce C. Mayberry of Yarmouth, Cynthia R. Irving of Bath and Laura M. Mayberry of Old Orchard Beach; and by her five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wed., Feb 24, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thurs., Feb. 25, both at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route One, #1, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
