Philip F. Dyer
PORTLAND - Philip F. Dyer, 87, died Tuesday June 1, 2010 at the Cedars. Born May 6, 1923 in South Portland he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine Miller Dyer.He attended Portland High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II.He attended the Rainbow United Methodist Church and was a life member of VFW Post 832 in South Portland. Phil was an avid reader and enjoyed old movies and boxing.Before his retirement, he had worked at Burnham & Morrill Co for 47 years.He was predeceased by two brothers; Henry M. Dyer and Everett C. Dyer.
He is survived by his wife Eunice Copp Dyer, they were married on August 1, 1953, his sisters in law; Frances C. Johnson of Portland, Laraine L. Campbell of Gold Canyon AZ and Lucy Dyer of Portland, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday June 7, 2010 at the Rainbow United Methodist Church 618 Washington Ave. Portland, with Rev. Sang-Churi Bae officiating.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park Portland.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rainbow United Methodist Church, 618 Washington Ave. Portland with Rev. Sang-Churi Bae officiating.
