CUMBERLAND - Pasquale "Patsy" Spizuoco, 75, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Portland on July 26, 1934, the son of Gennaro and Filomena Derice Spizuoco of Naples, Italy. He attended Portland schools. Patsy has been part of the Portland Waterfront from age 14 where he acquired many types of friendships. He was a type of person who would give you his last dollar. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family and friends, going on camping trips to Moosehead Lake, and Friday night poker at the Columbia Club with the guys. He would spend hours around the table at Boones Restaurant talking with all his friends over drinks.
Many of his enjoyable times were spent going to all his grandchildren's sporting events and birthday parties. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at yard sales, Goodwill, and long drives with his daughters.
Patsy was predeceased by his brother James and his wife Donna Spizuoco, sisters Teressa and her husband Dennis Cronk, Mary Dall, and Phyllis and her husband Donald Lawless. Patsy is survived by his wife of 57 years who he shared many happy times with. He is also survived by one sister, Anne Rollins; four daughters, Deborah Handlon and her husband Thomas, Cathy Munson and her husband Richard, Sandra Nelson and her husband Harold, and Tina Fogg and her husband Dennis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him. He will also be sadly missed by his two dogs, Sammy and Tyson.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 30, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
